Transportation Advocacy Group – Houston Region (TAG) consists of more than 150 individuals representing scores of local businesses, nonprofits and special purpose districts who have united to ensure adequate funding of Houston’s transportation infrastructure.
Houston is a leader in job creation, not only in the state but the nation as well. Our dynamic region added over 100,000 jobs in 2012. But that growth and prosperity could be jeopardized if our infrastructure fails to keep pace; in fact, the danger signs are beginning to appear. Already, some companies and individuals are deciding not to relocate to Texas because of congestion. According to a study released last year by the Texas Transportation Institute, several stretches of highway in the Houston area ranked among the worst in the nation for traffic delays during peak periods.
TAG is dedicated to building a broad-based coalition of businesses, local governments and community organizations to demonstrate public support for full and adequate funding of transportation infrastructure by the state and federal governments.
